About the KiJuBi

The Kinder- und Jugendbibliothek mit Lernzentrum (KiJuBi) of the Zentral- und Landesbibliothek Berlin (ZLB) is the largest children's library in Germany. For more than 50 years, children and their families inside and outside the region have been using our large, freely accessible collection of media of all kinds.

But this library is much more: a place for encounters with literature, art, and music. For many children and young adults, it is not only the first place where they get to know books and other media, but also where they first experience a storytelling hour, a puppet theatre, or an author reading.

With nearly 146,000 media, we offer a diverse and current range of works that meets the needs of our target group.

More than 177,000 visitors, about 520,000 borrowed books, and over 450 events every year testify to the intensive use of the KiJuBi.
